UM Heating Plant Strives to Conserve Energy

A Greener UM

The Heating Plant distributes steam heat to every building on campus through a network of underground tunnels. Upgrades are currently being made to the facility to help make it more energy efficient. UM News Reporter Rose Stepanek and photographer Mike Houchin went deep below campus to see what improvements are being made to the underground tunnel system.

Steamin' Construction
