The UM Triathlon team is busy biking, running and swimming for their upcoming triathlon season. Team president Joshua Goldberg and team member Chris Cordingley talked to UM News reporter Marnee Banks and photographer Jaime Berg about how the team is shaping up for the 2010 season.
In 1995, Western Illinois University decided to run an exhibit conceived by a California museum which focused on oppression. The exhibit developed under the concept of a tunnel. The exhibit uses the tunnel because of it's encompassing, narrow, and dark qualities which mirror the internal struggles of one who experiences oppression. The University of Montana brought the tunnel to campus for the first time this Fall to spark conversation for the "Day of Dialogue". Five different student groups set up stations in the tunnel and event coordinators ended up taking more than 400 students through the tunnel over the course of the three day exhibit. UM News photographer Jaime Berg and reporter Drew Trafton take us to the experience through the voices of those directly involved with the Tunnel of Oppression.
The University of Montana is getting a grade of its own on going green. UM News reporter Katrina Heser and photographer Jaime Berg found out how the campus ranks on the College Sustainability Report Card. The report card "provides in-depth sustainability profiles of colleges in all 50 states and Canada."
