New floor gives UM team a reason to dance

The Adams Center at the Univeristy of Montana is home to 14 collegiate sports as well as several atheletic groups. But during the winter season they all have to fight for space. UM news reporter Lindsey Scheetz and photographer Whitney Caldarone discovered what its like for one group to finally dance on stable ground.

Guide Dogs on Campus

U-M Students struggle everyday to keep up with their college classes and earn good grades. But Reporter Laura Wilson and Photographer Paige Browning found one student who calls upon a little extra help in the classroom.

MIFP Chinese Twins

The Holidays can make some students homesick when they are away from their families. UM News reporter Katy Harris and photographer Eri Okazaki found one Missoula family who is taking international students under their wing to make them feel at home during the holiday season.

Carillon Bells

The historic Memorial Carillon has been silenced for almost the entire semester. UM Main Hall's recent construction added seismic reinforcement to the bell tower and now construction is complete ahead of schedule. UM News Reporter Willi Brooks and Photographer Jon G. A new music band DARSHAN PULSE

Darshan is a Hindi word that means "an epiphany that comes about by being filled with divine light". In November a new band with a catchy name hit the stage of a local pub Sean Kelly's. Darshan Pulse sings about the world being watched and expresses their vision of today's status quo. Reporter Dariga Massenova talked to bandmates Greham Woolley and Brandt Miller about their concept album Panopticon that is planned to be released in January.

Model United Nations

Over 400 high school students gathered in the UC ballroom for the annual model united nations conference. Reporter Jennette Hoerner and Photographer Mike Houchin learned how UM political science majors are helping teens learn diversity.

UM Woodsman Team

One team at the University of Montana does it all - chopping, sawing, and climbing. UM News reporter Katrina Heser and photographer Daniel Ryan met with the UM Woodsman team and learned how the team is keeping a number of Montana traditions alive.

MFA Art Exhibit

Every year students in the Masters of Fine Arts degree at the University of Montana show off their work for the public. Larger-than-life ceramic figures by Kensuke Yamada call the Gallery of Visual Arts home for the next two weeks. UM News photographer Carmen Ebert and reporter Rose Stepanek look at how one student sculpts a new idea in his presentation.

Yamada's exhibit started December 3rd and runs through December 17th.
